As for myself, I am a freshman who will attending Bronx Science in the fallĪnyways: The 9th grade SHSAT is heavy in math. Having strong foundational reading/math skills is required- can't stress it enough! I know a few students who were accepted to Stuy & BX Science as sophomores, so I can relate from what I have heard from them. That said, it's quite possible to improve your score with adequate preparation within these months however, don't waste your time using schoolboards. For those that didn't making it, or are setting higher goals, don't be discouraged about the intensity of the 9th grade exam. This is a post for everyone taking the 9th grade SHSAT.
